Speaker Koon Commends Liberians, Especially Youth, for Taking a Stand Against Drug Abuse

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon, extends heartfelt commendation to Liberians of all ages—most especially the youth—for their courageous and united stand in marching against the rising abuse of drugs in our country under the powerful banner, #SayNoToDrug.

Speaker Koon acknowledges that the widespread participation in the recent anti-drug march reflects the growing awareness among citizens about the dangers of substance abuse and its devastating impact on individuals, families, and the future of Liberia. He praises the youth for stepping forward as agents of change, showing patriotism and a deep sense of responsibility toward building a healthier, drug-free society.

“This movement is not just a protest—it is a national call to action. It symbolizes the collective voice of a generation that refuses to let drugs destroy the hopes and dreams of our people,” the Speaker emphasized.

Speaker Koon further assures the public that the Legislature remains committed to strengthening laws and supporting policies that aim to combat drug trafficking and abuse, rehabilitate victims, and provide better opportunities for Liberia’s youth.

He encourages all Liberians to continue supporting the #SayNoToDrug campaign and to remain vigilant in protecting communities against this menace.

Together, we can save our nation from the grip of drugs and build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Liberia
