LBS Suspends Live Broadcast of MICAT Press Briefings.

The Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has temporarily suspended its live coverage of the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism’s (MICAT) regular press briefings.

LBS Director General Eugene Fahngon made the announcement Wednesday in Paynesville, citing financial constraints as the reason behind the decision. He explained that the lack of funding has left the management with no choice but to implement this cost-cutting measure.

According to Fahngon, the suspension will remain in place while discussions are held with MICAT to find a sustainable solution. He emphasized that although the decision was difficult, the management stands by it and remains hopeful for a swift resolution.

LBS had been broadcasting the MICAT briefings live every Tuesday and Thursday across its radio, television, and social media platforms.

In the meantime, Fahngon encouraged government agencies, private organizations, and individuals to utilize LBS’s business office for advertising, press conferences, special features, and live event coverage.
