Government Rebuffs Allegations of Taxing Religious Institutions.

The Liberian Government has categorically denied reports suggesting plans to impose fees on the establishment of churches and mosques.

Deputy Information Minister Daniel O. Sando attributed the reports to misinformation and political opportunism. He emphasized that the government has no intention of levying taxes or fees on religious institutions.

According to Mr. Sando, the opposition is disseminating false information to confuse the public and tarnish the government's reputation.

The government urges citizens to remain focused on national development initiatives and avoid being swayed by baseless rumors.

Meanwhile, Spoon TV reports that the Liberian Government plans to introduce permits for churches and mosques.
