From Bad to Worst: the JFK has increased fees for pregnant women, cancelled free medical care services for children under 5, increased fees on medicine from their pharmacy and implemented a buy your own drugs scheme without saying it.

Liberia is declining and declining fast. People are scared!

Plus, you must make a US 200 upfront payment before anyone looks after you, even if you are dying!

What supposed to be an improvement in health care delivery as promised during the campaign has taken a stunning turn at the JFK medical center. Parents who are used to taking their babies there for free medical care, will now have to be prepared to pay fees of up to US 250 before care can be given to their babies.

But this is not the only sad part of how Liberia has deteriorated. Women who are pregnant and decide to seek care at the JFK will now have to pay atleast US 150 more than normal and has to be paid upfront before receiving any attention.

While the above two seems worrisome, there is a 3rd. This one has increased registration fees for anyone going to the JFK for medical care. We are shocked to witness what is going on in Liberia.

All of this is happening as the president makes it his duties to celebrate both his and wife’s birthday every year and their wedding anniversary in addition. Together, the President and his wife celebrate 3 private events each year, spending good sum of money.

In addition, the president now celebrates the birthdays of each of his children with expensive gifts. These are in addition to the many other celebrations for things like being praised for speaking “good English”, “getting on UN Security Council that was already a sure case”, etc were huge sum of cash is used.

The President now, to add insult to the faces of the people, wears some of the most expensive watches such as Rolex costing atleast US 63,000 each, some of most expensive designer shoes, clothes that are customized and drives 2 bullet proof cars costing a little over 2.4 million with many fleet of other cars...

These are not short of mentioning the president’s credit card with US 100,000 on it just for snacks, frequent travels with private jets with no returns and building of multiple mansions worth more than 15 million in total.

These were not the promise. No one expected for the word “rescue” to mean increases in medical services fees, cancellations of medical care for babies under 5, charging pregnant women more while paying officials up to 3,600 for their generators.

There was no mistake for President Weah to have conceded the way he did. This was meant for our people, the Liberian people to witness first hand what was coming for them! Our people don’t deserve this!

This government has to change cause and most do it fast!
