Director for Public Affairs at MICAT Lawrence Fahnbulleh
"On July 2,2025 the Senior Management Team headed by Hon. Jerolinmek Matthew Piah held a general staff meeting in the Charles Gbenyon Press Hall
The general staff meeting brought together employees from across the Ministry where Minister Piah provided the current affairs of the ministry ongoing initiatives.
Hon. Piah updated the inployees on the following;
1.Staff Transportation:
For the first time since 2010, the Ministry—under Minister Piah’s leadership—has procured two new buses for staff use, along with a dedicated mini-bus for the National Cultural Troupe, bringing the total to three new buses.
This marks a major milestone, especially considering that Minister Piah served as Deputy Minister for Press and Public Affairs in 2010 at which time staff transportation was available.
2.National Tourism Act Implementation:
Following the recent signing of the National Tourism Act by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, all staff under the Department of Culture and Tourism will be transitioned to the newly established National Tourism Authority within 90 days. While salaries will be maintained, staff may not retain the same positions.
The Minister expressed his fully support and extended best wishes to all those to be affected by the transition.
3. Renovation Progress:
Renovation work at the Ministry’s headquarters is currently ongoing. Minister Piah reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the national government to improve staff welfare and enhance working conditions in the shortest possible time"
