
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. PRESIDENT BOAKAI CALLS FOR UNITED STATES INVESTMENTS IN LIBERIA
(Capitol Hill, Monrovia, Wednesday, July 9, 2025):- H.E. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. today Wednesday, at the opening of the US-Africa Summit in Washington D.C. presided over by US President Donald Trump, called for increased US investments in Liberia.
The Liberian Leader, among four other African Presidents at the Summit, underscored Liberia’s commitment and willingness to work with the United States to strengthen peace and security in the subregion.
President Boakai requested US assistance for a survey of Liberia’s mineral deposits that will foster economic partnership between the US and Liberia.
The Liberian Leader commended President Trump for the invitation, which acknowledges Liberia’s longstanding diplomatic ties with the United States of America.
In response, President Trump praised the eloquence of President Boakai for strategically pitching Liberia’s development agenda.
President Trump concluded his remarks by expressing optimism about the outcomes of the summit and reaffirmed the US commitment to strengthening economic ties with Africa.
