ARMED FORCES OF LIBERIA TO HOST THE 2025 WEST AFRICA LOGISTICS CONFERENCE Barclay Training Center, Monrovia – The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) is expected to host the 2025 West Africa Logistics Conference (WALC) from 3-8 August 2025.
The WALC is an annual regional logistics conference that is sponsored by the United States Government through the US Africa Command. The conference usually brings together the militaries of several West African Countries for mutual security and humanitarian collaboration.
This year’s WALC Conference will focus on enhancing interoperability, developing aligned logistics strategies, and resourcing readiness to ensure collective ability to respond swiftly and effectively to regional challenges.
The conference will feature distinguished panels, partner-led discussions and practical exchanges to share best practices, lessons learnt and opportunities for mutual collaboration.
Furthermore, the conference will inevitably strengthen the logistics networks that underpin shared security and humanitarian goals, thus advancing peace, stability and prosperity across the region.
In preparation to the 2025 WALC in Liberia, the AFL Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, Lt Col Saimo Omias Kortu and the AFL Logistics Command Commander, Maj Soko S. Sirleaf will attend the first planning conference at Scott Airforce Base, Illinois, USA from 24-26 Jun 2025. The final planning conference will be held in Liberia from 7-9 Jul 2025.
As a key allied to Liberia, the US Embassy near Monrovia will play a pivotal role in the conference. Since the inception of the restructured AFL in 2006, the US Government has played diverse significant roles; ranging from recruits training, mentorship, continuous local and international capacity building, including several other assistance in the areas of health, humanitarian and maritime affairs.
