Senator Nathaniel McGill Chairman, CDC Legislative Caucus and Musa Hassan Bility Nimba county District#7 makes a statement about the former First Lady alleged arrest.

“As a politician and Chairman of the CDC Legislative Caucus, let me issue a caveat: it would be a grave mistake for anyone to attack the former First Lady without a valid reason because such a reason does not exist.

If you believe you have a reason to raise issues, then you must also be prepared to take responsibility for your claims.

I want to say ‘Thank you’ to Madam Clar Weah. If no one else wants to say it, I will.

We respect people, but we are not afraid.

Madam Weah, I commend you for the incredible work you’re doing. When I arrived here, I saw underprivileged children and asked the former President if these children were attending school free of charge. He said yes. That touched me.

Thank you, Madam Former First Lady, for giving hope and inspiration to our children.

Sometimes, when I hear people downplaying or failing to appreciate your efforts, I wonder whether Liberians truly love this country. I want to encourage you to continue.

When I was Minister of State, I recall a decision you made madam Former First Lady that I now want to publicly acknowledge. You said not a single cent of government money would be used for this project and today, we see the wisdom behind that decision.

. But some of our so-called young politicians, instead of thanking you, choose to criticize.

Quote me: McGill says even if I’m CDC—that there is no government money in this project. If you think otherwise, bring the evidence. That’s your business.”

Representative Musa Bility
District #7, Nimba County

“Liberia is 178 years old. I am over 55 and in all that time, I have never seen any First Lady make the kind of mark you have, Madam Clar Marie Weah. This achievement is unmatched in our nation’s history.

I’ve always admired you, but today that admiration has tripled. You have used your energy and time to transform the lives of children in this country.

We thank you.

Today, I officially announce our partnership with the Clar Hope Foundation. On Monday, you will receive a brand-new pickup vehicle. It is ready, complete with tax documents, and can be collected from Africa Motors.

To those who criticize, let me say this clearly: you have zero reason to question what Madam Weah is doing for these children.

Sadly, our country seems designed to tear down good people. I am living proof. I have never benefited from anyone. I’ve worked hard. Yet, those who now lead this country spent six years trying to destroy my reputation.

But now, I finally have a chance to work even as they are in power.

Madam Former First Lady, close your ears to the noise. Keep doing what you are doing for the children.

Mr. President, thank you for marrying a good woman.”
