June 24, 2025. My Opinion, Concerns, and Recommendations Regarding the Burning of the Capitol Building

To the Government and People of Liberia:

Everyone accused in the burning of the Capitol Building is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. However, I would like to share my sincere opinion and recommendations on this matter as a concerned Liberian citizen.

1. Any politician who knowingly supports, defends, or collaborates with individuals found to be involved in the planning or execution of this crime does not truly love this country. Such individuals should be barred from participating in politics.

2. If these individuals are found guilty, I strongly recommend that the Government of Liberia arrange for them to serve their prison sentences outside the country. The seriousness of this crime warrants such action.

3. The government should identify and seize any bank accounts and properties owned by the accused to help fund the repair and reconstruction of the Capitol Building.

4. If their bail bonds are not credible or sufficient, they should remain in jail until their court hearings are concluded.

I continue to stand by my belief that this case involves a capital offense. These individuals should not have been granted bail in the first place.

I am not a lawyer, but as a stakeholder and advocate for Liberia, I have the right to express my opinion and offer recommendations for the good of our nation.

THINK LIBERIA. LOVE LIBERIA. TOGETHER, WE BUILD LIBERIA.

Sincerely,
Gabriel Monger Zarwea
