July 11, 2025

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has called on American and international investors to seize new opportunities for investment and private enterprise in Liberia.

Speaking on behalf of the President, Ambassador Charles A. Snetter, Jr., Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, delivered the keynote address at the Business Conference held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The high-level conference, organized by the Trade and Investment Office of Liberia in Philadelphia in partnership with Laborers’ Local 332, brought together senior U.S. officials, Liberian government representatives, business leaders, and diaspora stakeholders to explore economic cooperation and commercial opportunities in Liberia.

In his address, President Boakai emphasized Liberia’s commitment to transparency, good governance, and the rule of law, noting that his administration is pursuing sweeping reforms to improve the investment climate and restore public trust. “You can have trust in this administration—the Rule of Law is a foundational pillar of our governance strategy,” he affirmed.

The President outlined key priorities under his government’s flagship ARREST Agenda—focusing on Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism—as critical areas for partnership and economic growth. He highlighted urgent investment needs in infrastructure, healthcare, education, energy, and small and medium enterprise development.

“Gone are the days of mere PowerPoint presentations,” He declared. “We are now on the ground, taking tangible actions. We invite you to be a part of this transformation.” He added.

OB behalf of the President, Ambassador Snetter highlighted the significance of Liberia’s recent unanimous election to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, calling it “a powerful testament to Liberia’s growing international credibility—and a signal to investors worldwide that Liberia is back and ready for business.”

The conference’s theme, “Prioritizing President Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for Economic Growth, Private Enterprise, and Job Creation,” framed the day’s discussions around Liberia’s transformation agenda and the critical role of the private sector in driving sustainable development.

The President extended special thanks to the City of Philadelphia, Laborers’ Local 332, and the Liberia Trade and Investment Office for organizing the event. He also reaffirmed Liberia’s readiness to work closely with U.S. partners, adding that “the Liberian people are ready. The Government is prepared. The time is now.”

The President has concluded his visit to the United States for a series of high-level engagements with the U.S. Government and private sector leaders and on his way to Liberia.
