
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. President Boakai Gears Up for Historic U.S.-Africa Summit with President Trump

Washington, D.C., United States – In preparation of the US-Africa Summit and bilateral with U.S. President Donald J. Trump, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., spent Tuesday, July 8, 2025, engaging in strategic consultations and high-level briefings with influential figures in Washington, D.C., ahead of the July 9 White House meeting.
President Boakai is one of five African Heads of State—alongside leaders from Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Senegal—invited to participate in the U.S.-Africa Summit hosted by President Trump. The gathering is expected to address key areas of cooperation, including economic development, security, infrastructure, and democracy.
As part of his preparatory engagements, President Boakai met with Dr. Massad F. Boulous, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President on African Affairs. Dr. Boulous offered valuable insights into current developments within the U.S. political landscape and reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to deepening U.S.-Africa partnerships.
President Boakai also welcomed a courtesy visit from Mrs. Paula Michelle White-Cain, Spiritual Advisor to President Trump. The two share a longstanding relationship dating back to their initial meeting at the 65th National Congressional Prayer Breakfast in 2017. Mrs. White-Cain offered prayers and spiritual encouragement for the success of the summit and President Boakai’s leadership.
Additionally, the President held a productive meeting with a delegation from the U.S.-Africa Business Center, led by its President, Mrs. Kendra L. Gaither. Discussions centered around enhancing trade, investment, and private sector collaboration between the United States and Liberia.
President Boakai expressed optimism about the outcomes of the summit, reaffirming Liberia’s commitment to regional stability, democratic governance, and inclusive economic growth.
The high-level summit is scheduled to convene on the morning of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the White House.
