Representative Rugie Yatu Barry of Montserrado County District #1 has officially drawn the attention of the House of Representatives to an escalating land dispute affecting residents within her constituency.
Speaking today in session at the Capitol, Hon. Barry expressed deep concern over the growing tensions related to land ownership and boundary encroachments in a particular community in District #1. She emphasized the urgency of legislative intervention and called on relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Liberia Land Authority, to swiftly investigate and take appropriate action to prevent the situation from worsening.
“This matter poses a serious threat to peace and community stability,” Representative Barry stated. “Our people deserve protection, transparency, and justice when it comes to their land rights. I am urging this honorable body to treat this issue with the seriousness it deserves.”
The House has acknowledged her communication and is expected to invite key stakeholders for further discussion on the matter.
